
Endorsed Study
Criteria for Selection
- Must be in collaboration with a TGN Core or TGN Academic Affiliate site
- The primary objective of each study must be to help move a geroscience-guided intervention from the bench to human studies and ultimately clinical care
- One or more biological hallmarks are targeted
- Pre-clinical evidence exists in animal models supporting its ability to target hallmarks
- Study design is guided by geroscience principles
- Outcomes include some combination of geroscience-relevant biomarkers, functional measures and/or chronic disease diagnoses
- Funding for the core study has either been obtained or plans for grant submission clearly described
- Sufficient institutional infrastructure
- Proposed study focus is well-aligned with TGN mission and will help ensure a well-balanced portfolio of TGN-sponsored studies
- Only US-based institutions eligible
Benefits of becoming a TGN Endorsed Study
- Access to background information pertaining to geroscience-guided approaches to study design, clinical outcomes and biomarkers – beyond to what is posted on the website
- Consultation hours with content experts (limited free assistance followed by cost recovery)
- Assistance with TGN-related budgeting issues
- Eligible to participate in future data pooling analyses and projects
Expectations of a TGN Endorsed Study
- Willingness to seek funding for these studies if not already funded
- Must include TGN Core Service fees in grant applications
- Adherence to TGN policies as regards selection of outcome measures, use of standardized biomarker panels, SOPs, MOPs, and Biobanking protocols
- Agree single IRB if appropriate
- Willingness to share data and samples with other TGN sites/studies once appropriate IRB and privacy requirements are fulfilled.
- Cite TGN in all relevant publications if used TGN services (FGA, consultant hours)
- Sign a Letter of Understanding
